Having once been a major skeptic when it came to psychics and mediums, I understand why people are hesitant to call psychics for either guidance or fun. I spent most of my life thinking every psychic and medium in the world was a phony and a fraud. Two years ago I learned differently. Now that I have been investigating and writing about mediums for two years, I have discovered several genuinely-gifted and legitimate psychic mediums right here in New England.
I would like to announce one particular psychic medium who is among the cream-of-the-crop. Her name is Jackie Lopez, and she’s a twenty-nine year old prodigy. Jackie is as good as they get, although she’ll tell you she is always growing. Unassuming, you know she is reading your life from a place of love and non-judgment. The most obvious of her personality traits are kindness, integrity, sincerity and honesty—just what you'd want from a person offering such intimate insight into your life.
Please understand that I have been read by some of the best mediums in the world. I have seen demonstrations from psychic mediums who are internationally known and have had major television, magazine and newspaper publicity. I promise you that none of these celebrated mediums have anything over Jackie Lopez—her gift stands among the best.
I recently experienced one of Jackie's gifted readings by phone after meeting her in person a few days prior. She has a sweet unassuming manner that is confident, yet unthreatening. What I enjoyed best about her personality was her almost ego-less innocence. Perhaps that comes from her young age. But don’t let her age fool you; hers is a blessed skill that defies years of experience. Perhaps there are lifetimes of experience instead. Her accuracy met a depth of detail and insight that is far beyond what I expected from such a young person. Jackie presented me with names, dates and descriptions she could never have known; and she did it with an ease as if she had been giving readings since the day she was born. In the end, this young lady impressed me, and that's not an easy task.
When I was a skeptic, my main problem was that I didn’t know where to find a legitimate psychic medium. I didn’t understand that a medium actually communicates with your spirit-guides rather than just reading your mind or reading your future. I never realized that these practitioners can communicate with those who have “crossed-over”—they actually have the amazing ability to hear and see dead people. One purpose of my research into mediums is to inform you (the public) where the truly gifted mediums are so you won’t be taken advantage of by the less than legitimate ones.

My Reading with Jackie Lopez by Mark Miller timmysgift.org
My reading with Jackie Lopez in April of 2003 was my first reading with a psychic medium. As you can imagine, I was a bit apprehensive, but the experience was extraordinary nonetheless. Jackie will do readings over the phone or in person, so I traveled all the way to Boston one bright and beautiful spring day to experience her energy and talents first-hand. For me, readings via the telephone seem to be somewhat impersonal, although the quality and accuracy of the reading will not be reduced since most psychic mediums are not affected by physical proximity. Furthermore, I think it's important to experience a reading in person since it just feels more "real" and genuine when you can see all of the subtle facial expressions and you can surmise the character of the medium more clearly and definitely.
Like most other highly-talented mediums, Jackie's experiences with the "other side" began at a very young age. Since I have an interest in developing my psychic skills, I asked Jackie how she got started down the path of becoming a psychic medium. Jackie explained that she developed her connection with her "People" (Jackie's spirit guides, as she likes to refer to them) primarily through automatic writing. At a very young age, she also experienced OBEs (out-of-body experiences) and a host of other psychic phenomena. Then, in her early 20's, after years of trying to suppress these mysterious and sometimes frightening encounters, everything suddenly became "wide open" and she started to educate herself. Spending time with a world-renowned psychic in Britain soon convinced her just how talented she really was! In many respects, learning about her talents instead of hiding from them and suppressing them was a big relief to Jackie because, as a child, she often wondered what was wrong with her and why she was so different from everybody else.
On a more personal level, when Jackie is not performing readings or teaching classes on psychic development and the mechanics of mediumship, she spends the remainder of her waking hours as a wife and mother of school-age kids in a typically suburban neighborhood. If you have any preconceived notions of a medium wearing long, flowing garb with trinkets dangling from bracelets and necklaces while staring into a crystal ball, then you need to throw all that away and start over! Jackie is as personable and down-to-earth as you will find for a medium since she lives a very "normal" life (by my standards, of course). Did I mention that the readings are performed in her well-lit kitchen in broad daylight? I think the most surprising aspect is that, compared to other mediums, Jackie is relatively young yet she retains a mature outlook on life that is well beyond her years.
Jackie considers herself to be a very "spiritual" medium. In other words, she credits much of her success as a medium to her "connection" with her People (spirit guides), and she lives a very spiritual life in accordance with her life purpose and divine guidance. Much of the information that she receives from the other side flows to her through her People. This is very interesting to experience first-hand because she'll be talking to you directly and then, suddenly, she looks over your shoulder and holds a short, one-sided (seemingly) conversation with her People. Then, of course, she relates to you what was said. I found this a bit unnerving at first until I realized what was going on. Later in the reading, I found myself asking for clarification from Jackie as to the source of the information -- her People, my spirit guides, or directly from the deceased -- any of whom may be communicating directly to you through Jackie.
Jackie also explained to me that she would not disclose the names or any other information pertaining to my spirit guides, for a number of reasons. First, even if she did tell me, I would have no way to verify this information. Second, a person's connection with their spirit guide(s) is very unique and personal and must be developed through direct personal experience using whatever means are most effective. Jackie again emphasized in no uncertain terms that making a connection with your spirit guides is very important to expanding one's spiritual awareness. We also discussed some methods that might work best for me.
It's interesting to note that the reading had no definite starting point. One minute we were discussing everyday life issues, and the next minute Jackie was receiving information from her People. The shift was very subtle. Jackie asked me what was important about April. Her People were showing her a "4" (for the fourth month of the year). Later in the reading, the number "7" (July) was given to me as significant, and also the numbers "2 - 4". At the time I had no clue what Jackie was talking about. I could think of nothing particularly significant in April or July or the 24th of any month. It wasn't until a few weeks later that I realized the significance of this symbology. My first contact with the spirit world was in April (i.e., this reading with Jackie). My next reading would take place with Laura Scott in July, although it had not yet been scheduled! Finally, I had an appointment to see Vicki Monroe in September, but that was later rescheduled to (you guessed it!) the 24th of October. In general, your loved ones who have passed over and/or your spirit guides will often start off a reading like this in order to provide some validation for the rest of the information. In other words, they are trying very hard to give you information that the medium has no way of knowing ahead of time. In this case, even I didn't know this information until later, which only serves to reinforce the validity of this experience.
Jackie then mentioned that there was some "unfinished business" regarding a passing. Up until this point, she had no knowledge of Timmy and the true reason why I was there. She mentioned that this person is very close to me and has "known me forever". To me, that was a strange choice of words and I was a bit confused. But the spirit with whom Jackie was telepathically communicating was adamant. Jackie asked for clarification, and the spirit said that there "was not a time when I didn't know you". Still more confusion. At this point in a reading, it's common for the subjects (i.e., me) to experience what I would call a "brain fart". I was struggling with the literal interpretation of this message, instead of just relaxing into the meaning behind the message. Suddenly, I realized that this was Timmy and that he was referring to the fact that I had known him since birth. Both Jackie and I had a good laugh once we realized what was going on! Please keep in mind, too, that the medium (Jackie, in this case) is using all of her psychic senses to interpret and translate the "information" that is coming to her -- it's not just a simple matter of listening to what you and I think of as spoken conversation.
As the communications with Timmy continued, Jackie mentioned that she kept on seeing "question marks" surrounding the death, and she sensed an element of surprise. Undoubtedly, this is related to two aspects of Timmy's death: He died rather suddenly over a period of less than two weeks, and the cause of death was (and still is) unknown. Jackie felt pressure in her head while simultaneously being told that there was a fluid buildup in his body. This same phenomenon of physical sensations related to the cause of death is quite common in mediumistic readings, and Vicki Monroe also experienced similar sensations during my reading with her 6 months later (please refer to Vicki's reading).
I mentioned to Jackie that there was still a significant element of guilt surrounding Timmy's death. Had I somehow unknowingly contributed to his death? Why did he die so young? Jackie received the following message from Timmy (paraphrased): It is extremely difficult with our limited human comprehension to understand why things like this happen, but it is related to our blueprint of life -- our life plan. I was given "a huge gift", and now I am a completely different person than I was three years ago. As mentioned in subsequent readings, Timmy came here to teach and to impart the gift of knowing and awareness. He said that I am now in a place of growth, and my path has been altered accordingly. In short, the events surrounding Timmy's death will, according to Timmy, "impact me forever". I can only assume that he means that the repercussions of my knowing Timmy will reverberate within me even beyond this lifetime.
Next, Jackie commented on how closely Timmy was connected to his big sister. A special bond existed, and still exists, between them. Timmy liked the fact that his big sister has certain items that used to be his now displayed in her bedroom, in addition to photographs of Timmy. Jackie asked me if my daughter talks about Timmy often. She stressed to me that it is important to keep that dialog open because young children often keep these types of thoughts to themselves instead of verbalizing their thoughts to sometimes unreceptive adults. Timmy also emphasized that it was vitally important that his sister was able to see him in the hospital before he died. It is interesting to note that as Timmy's condition worsened and he was losing consciousness, the only person to whom he noticeably responded was his big sister.
Jackie brought up the fact that there was a question in my mind regarding who was with Timmy and taking care of him on the other side. At first, I didn't consciously recall having such thoughts, but later I realized that this was indeed the case. At this point in the reading, my mother-in-law (Timmy's grandmother), who died in 2002, began to come through. Jackie once again accurately described the physical symptoms surrounding her death, and that her death should not have been a surprise (it indeed was not a surprise, as her health had been steadily deteriorating over a period of years). My mother-in-law continued by saying that I should not be surprised that she spends a lot of time with Timmy and that she is with him along with many others (no specifics given). If you read further regarding my readings with other mediums, you'll see that my mother-in-law is also a prevalent figure in those readings.
Jackie commented that my mother-in-law related information to her using beautiful and insightful metaphors and that she stays close to my immediate family. My mother-in-law also likes that fact that we had pictures of her in our house. And she commented that I was very handy to have around the house since I "could fix anything" and I was, in fact, building a house. Of course, I can't "hear" what my mother-in-law is saying to Jackie, but Jackie knew that I worked with computers and, as Jackie told me later, she was arguing with my mother-in-law because that information regarding the building of a house was obviously inaccurate. Then I explained to Jackie that I am indeed building a house -- a club house for my daughter in our backyard! Jackie admitted that she is still learning not to question the information from the spirits on the other side because they are rarely wrong. Pretty funny!
Jackie also described to me spirits that were present but had no particular message, such as a great-uncle of mine on my Dad's side of the family. Jackie even has the ability to tap into other people's energy systems (via her People), but only as necessary during the reading. She uses this information to better ascertain the circumstances regarding relationships and significant events in our lives.
At random points in the reading, Jackie prophesized about my future, but in very general terms in order to minimize the impact upon my free will. More specifically, she mentioned my boss by name and that I would be having some "dialog" with him shortly. She also mentioned that she could see a "shift at work", but nothing sudden or drastic. Wouldn't you know it, three months later I received a phone call from a head-hunter with a job offer too good to refuse! So I quit my job with the company that had employed me since college, and I took a position with a smaller, less bureaucratic, privately held company. At the time of the reading, I had no interest in changing jobs. Jackie also vaguely discussed where my life was heading, saying that my growth will continue for me but it will come in “spurts” and will sometimes be “overwhelming”. My understanding, and I'm sure Jackie would agree, is that we're only told by our guides what we need to know in order to better fulfill our mission(s), no matter how seemingly insignificant.
Although a typical reading with Jackie is scheduled to last one hour, my reading continued like this for over 1 1/2 hours. Near the end of the reading, Jackie summarized the major points: Contact your people, know that Timmy is ok, and keep reading about metaphysical topics. Needless to say, I was very impressed by the accuracy and depth of my reading. Jackie's sincerity and integrity is quite evident, and she obviously enjoys helping others (on both sides of the veil). And, for the economy-minded individuals out there, Jackie was by far the least expensive medium that I encountered of this caliber. So hurry up and sign up for your reading today before she becomes famous and is forced to raise her prices!
Here’s a short list of other points that Jackie made during the reading: - Our path is inward, toward our true selves - Our greatest learning comes through our spirit guides - Never stop learning - Like a child, we all need both play and discipline - Man-made laws are based on fear – the spirit world does not work that way - Everyone’s path is their own - Not judging others is a huge thing – we cannot know another’s path
